Greetings from Samara's amateur archeologists!

It may be interesting to some users to see these statistics. I have aggregated the data from the last few months, running from May 2012 (the creation of the website) up to now.

Great friends of our catalog, Nickolay and Andrey Federov, have produced for us a small edition dealing with aluminum caps! We give them much appreciation for doing this!

There were plenty of caps for milk bottles: carton seals, aluminum foil, and even crown caps.

Numerous varieties of soda water were sold in the USSR. Each factory produced its own water and bottled it with its own crown caps, which is why it’s very difficult for collectors to determine the exact - or even the approximate - date of manufacture of a particular product. As we know, the GOST standard indicates only the beginning of the issue period, so there can be considerable uncertainty in dating based on that method: GOST in USSR covered a period not of just one or two years but decades.

What was produced at the factory, how was it sealed?

I just got nice visit caps of Fedorov family.

Old steel caps dug out from the ground are very fragile, so we must be very careful with them.

At the end of the calendar, it's a good time to strike a balance. I'm very glad that interest in this project continues to rise. Though we also have an English version, according to statistics most of the visitors come from the former USSR, and we will support a dual language interface in future despite the fact that it takes some extra effort to do so.
